Using Assessment in the Service of Learning: Practical, Possible and Powerful Ideas for K-12 Classrooms

How can classroom teachers make sense of the myriad of demands when it comes to classroom assessment and evaluation?

In this one-day session Dr. Anne Davies and Brenda Augusta will share practical, possible and powerful ideas, strategies and methods to

  • identify and collect reliable and valid evidence of learning including baseline evidence;
  • use evidence of learning to inform teaching and to improve learning;
  • involve students in collecting evidence and showing proof of learning and achievement; and
  • respond to the challenge of informed professional judgment and reporting.

Anne and Brenda will bring the ideas to life with detailed classroom accounts as well as in-session discussions, readings and video clips to show the work in action.

Current research findings show that what teachers do makes a difference! Using assessment in the service of learning has the highest impact on learning and achievement. Come to this day of learning to be inspired and reenergized!
