Scaffolding for Student Success

Scaffolding for Student Success

Just as scaffolding provides support for a structure, teachers provide support for students while they are learning. Once students are secure with a skill, teachers can remove the scaffolding and celebrate increased student confidence and learning.

This section of the website provides an array of assessment for learning tools and templates that teachers can adapt for a range of classroom contexts. Designed for student self-reflection, peer coaching and teacher feedback, these tools highlight the power of specific, descriptive feedback to scaffold students and move learning forward.

These tools are based on models and processes described in the AAC publication Scaffolding for Student Success (Order book here).

AAC members can download PLC book study materials here.
