Membership Information

Membership in the Alberta Assessment Consortium (AAC) is open to school authorities and other educational organizations having a central role in the education of children. Memberships may not be purchased by individuals.

AAC maintains an extensive online collection of classroom assessment materials, developed by teachers for everyday classroom use. Professional learning materials are also available for individual study, PLC work, or whole school use. Members have access to these materials through jurisdiction-specific user name and password.

Each year, AAC embarks on a variety of assessment related initiatives and professional learning opportunities. These events are offered on a cost-recovery model and may be accessed by members as space permits.

Regular Membership (school authorities serving more than 2000 students)
Regular membership entitles all teachers and administrators within the school jurisdiction to

  • access online assessment materials and professional learning resources;
  • receive significant discounts on registration fees for the AAC annual fall conference; and
  • receive significant discounts on AAC publications.

Regular membership entitles the jurisdiction representative or designate to attend, provide input, and vote at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The annual fee for an AAC regular memberships is five thousand dollars ($5,000) CAD.

 

Associate Membership (school authorities serving up to 2000 students)
Associate membership entitles all teachers and administrators within the school jurisdiction to

  • access online assessment materials and professional learning resources;
  • receive significant discounts on registration fees for the AAC annual fall conference; and
  • receive significant discounts on AAC publications.

Associate membership entitles the jurisdiction representative or designate to attend and provide input at the Annual General Meeting (AGM); associate membership does not include voting privileges.

The annual fee for an AAC associate membership is one thousand dollars ($1,000) CAD.

 

Membership by Educational Organization, including Faculties of Education
AAC memberships may be granted to educational organizations with the approval of the Executive Committee. AAC membership entitles employees within an educational organization, and faculty and registered students within a faculty of education to

  • access online assessment materials and professional learning resources;
  • receive significant discounts on registration fees for the AAC annual fall conference; and
  • receive significant discounts on AAC publications.

Membership by an organization does not allow transfer of access or benefits to school jurisdictions or other groups served by their organization.

Educational organizations may join as regular or associate members. The educational organization representative or designate is entitled to attend and provide input at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), but only regular organization representatives are entitled to vote.
