AAC Regional Professional Learning 2012
AAC will once again be providing professional learning support for AAC member jurisdictions within a regional context. This model differs from the previous assessment specialist initiative in significant ways.
- Two AAC facilitators will be available in each region for two-day visits two times during the year.
- The days will be custom designed for each region using a consensus model, based on the needs expressed by jurisdiction representatives within the region. On-line discussion forums* allow AAC jurisdiction representatives within each region to engage in dialogue and planning.
*For AAC jurisdication representative use only. For instructions on how to access the forums, click here.
- The opportunity exists for a differentiated professional learning focus.
- Jurisdictions determine who attends from their jurisdiction. This could include classroom teachers, teacher leaders, consultants, and/or administrators.
- The professional learning days will operate on a cost-sharing model.
- AAC covers the costs associated with facilitation and travel for the AAC facilitators.
- Jurisdictions supply venue (on a rotating basis) and are responsible for any costs (sub, travel) for their attendees. Video conferencing could be used when the venue can support it.
- A nominal registration fee will be charged per attendee to cover food.
